Johnson Kabera is the Managing Partner at Kigali Allied Advocates. Before joining Kigali Allied Advocates, Johnson worked as a prosecutor for a period of six years starting the year 2000. He is a Fellow (FCIARB) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.
He holds a Bachelor`s Degree in Law from the National University of Rwanda obtained in 1999 He has attended many trainings and obtained different certificates including a Certificate in International Trade and Development (Trade Policy Training Centre for Africa, Arusha, Tanzania May 2010, Certificate course for the Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, 2011 and many others in the Justice Sector.
He is involved in training prosecutors and judges at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development in Nyanza as a trainer in different disciplines but especially the Gender –based Violence, professional ethics of advocates and pleading techniques.
More to his experience in criminal matters from his work as a prosecutor, he is very familiar with labour laws and between July and Dec 2009 he was hired as one of the consultants to draft 15 Ministerial Orders to implement the Law regulating labour in Rwanda. He is also a specialist in arbitration a field he got interested in and obtained trainings. He has participated in high profile arbitral tribunals either as counsel or as a party appointed arbitrator.
He is a member of the trainings and the ethics committee of Kigali Bar Association and also Member of the East African Law Society.
He is fluent in English Kinyarwanda and a working knowledge of French
